EFL Teaching and Learning in Brazil: Theory & Practice is collection of papers presented at the APIRS, APLISC and APLIEPAR 2000 Convention that was held at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis, on the theme EFL in Brazil: Past, Present and Future. Since 1997 these three teachers associations from the south of Brazil (APLIEPAR – Paraná, APLISC – Santa Catarina and APIRS – Rio Grande do Sul) have promoted a joint annual convention in order to broaden horizons in the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language in Brazil and strengthen the purpose of assisting teachers of English in their journey of development and growth.
